A Bit About Me
I made my first appearance on this planet in December 1998 and grew up in Weston-super-Mare, England with my brother and two sisters. I was born into a family of keen skiers so it won't come as a surprise that I began skiing at just 2 and a half years old on a little pair of plastic skis in Chamonix, France.
From there, my love for skiing grew. I spent hours chasing after my older siblings and cousins on ski holidays and was always desperate to throw myself down whatever it was they were skiing regardless of how small I was. I must have been around 5 or 6 years old when I decided I wanted to be a ski racer, of course I had no idea about which discipline I liked the best and I had even less of a clue about how I would go about achieving this dream.
I spent three seasons in Les Arcs between the ages of 12-14 and attended a French school in Bourg St Maurice; I joined the local recreational ski club and spent my weekends hurtling down the pistes after my instructors with my younger sister. My first experience of skicross was in 2013 when I entered the GMX which was an open event held in Les Arcs and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to enter the following year and managed to grab myself 2nd place in the competition against the locals.
Whilst in France, my passion for skiing really turned into an obsession and the three year experience of living between Les Arcs and the UK is really what shaped me into the person and skier I am today. In 2017, after returning to England to complete my GSCEs and A Levels, I took a gap year with the aim of doing some work as a ski instructor and somehow got swept up in the world of skicross again after entering a snow dome race on a whim. This time, I grabbed 1st place and it was then that I decided that I would pursue a career as a skicross athlete.
With the help of my parents, I bought my first freestyle FIS licence and joined GB Snowsport on a training camp in Austria. From there, I started racing in official FIS races and was then selected for the British Europa Cup Squad six months later. My racing has taken me all over the world but my dream destination is the Winter Olympics.
