A Slow Start...

faithdavie

The season is underway, we're almost at the end of January but I've only done 2 races (in one venue as well!) so it's been a bit of a slow start. The first Europa Cup of the season was held in Sweden and we decided not to go because the cost was too high and then we had two races cancelled in December and January. The tracks were not ready unfortunately so we couldn't train on any full length courses but manged to get some start training in during December.

I had a crash in the Europa Cup in Lenk (Switzerland), nothing seriously damaged - just my thumbs - and I managed to get up and ski off so I can't complain too much! I'm back in Ramsau in Austria where our base is now and taking a little break from training due to a sore back. Nothing to do with the crash... I think I've just pulled something after sneezing too aggressively.

I am hoping that I'll be alright by Monday as that's when our next competition is. It's the Swiss National Championships held in Veysonnaz and it will be held on the same track as the World Cup on Saturday and Sunday so it'll be a big one! Then we'll be off to France to a place called Les Contamines for the next instalment of the Europa Cup Tour. Wish me luck!
